Year 2: Astra Zeneca got wind of the project and gave us some finacial support but more importantly gave us some technical help in the form of Steve and Phil, who working alongside a new group of year 10 girls designed and made flower power that most of you have seen in the technology department. We raced in the North west regional final and came 3rd and so qualified for the final in Goodwood, here we did not do as well as expected and only came 52nd, we had problems with the gears!

Year 3:this year. The same group of year 11 girls with some extra assistance from 5 year 11 boys, have spent the year adding gears to Flower Power and some extra body work, while also designing and making a new car they can drive, at the moment this is in bits in the technology department but they are still coming in even though they are on exam leave and are trying to finish it for July 16th when they need to race again at Darley Moor. This time we have concentrate on using composite materials and keeping the weight down to a minimum, with a lot of the design thinking going on an aerodynamic shape.
